As I’m sure some of you have noticed, I’ve been distant for a while now. Just a little over two months or so to be honest. I make neither excuses, nor rationalizations. I can do bad all by myself, and pride myself on taking responsibilities for my actions.
The one thing I do have is a reason, and ironically, this segues nicely into writing, although that may be a post for another day.
My reason you ask?
Honestly?
I was burnt out. I just needed some time away, not from this, but from everything.
I’ve been so busy, and pushing so hard to make everything come together not only as an author, but in other ways as well, I lost something very important.
Perspective.
I needed to get away for a while to get my mind straightened out. To get things straight so that I could get back to what I do best, as best as I can.
I’m not going to whine, we all get a raw deal in life somehow, and yet again this post isn’t really about that.
What this post is about however, a piece of advice I have just learned the hard way.
Keep your internal perspective. Keep your mind, body and soul straight so that you can really push hard and get down to brass tacks.
I forgot all about that and it’s effects were felt, but don’t worry.
Now I’m back.
But that’s enough about me. What about you? When have you ended up in a similar scenario? How have you lost perspective in your life?
If you feel comfortable please leave it in the comments below.
